Spirits :: Waldorf Gloom Lifter
It is refreshing to sit at a bar in Las Vegas and not feel like you are a guinea pig to the latest concoction mixed by the latest fad in vodka flavors, garnished with a fistful of candy. That does have it’s time and place to be enjoyed, but tonight, I wanted something more on the classy side. I had the rare opportunity to sit sans children and husband, at one of the finest restaurants on The Strip, and sip cocktails. Lots of cocktails. I was invited by the Restaurant Manager of American Fish to join her while she decided on the final cocktails for their Holiday menu.
It was a good thing she was doing the selecting. Their cocktail menu is like a book, and all dedicated to the “Prohibition Era” style drinks. My absolute favorite is their Moscow Mule, which is available year-round. But alas, the time came where she had to make the final cut, and four out of the eight were deemed the chosen ones.
This is a recipe graciously shared with The Trend Tribe by American Fish, a Michael Mina restaurant at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas. You can order it from their Holiday cocktail menu.
