Six years ago during my 28 month pregnancy, I was extremely uncomfortable, the size of a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and couldn’t sleep one wink. Until Rockabye Baby! began sending me releases to preview. A Led Zeppelin here, a Pink Floyd there, I fell in love with them so deeply that it is amazing I didn’t name Lil’ Miss S. after the mailman who delivered them. ┬áNo joke. These CDs were a lifesaver. When nothing else helped, I remember tossing in the Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Metallica for the heck of it and within moments, I was asleep. I mean ZONKED OUT! I was out of my mind with excitement because if they worked this well for me, then my baby was HOOKED. UP.

All these years later, the Rockabye Baby! series has grown to over 43 albums, and not only is it still playing 24/7 on my daughter’s iPod in her room, but during dinner parties my fellow music-snob friends and I play a great version of ‘Name That Tune’. The instrumental music is so recognizable that everyone can play and have a blast. I love the moment they realize they are hearing a familiar tune or sing a line of a song and you see the “ah-ha!” expression on their face.

Rockabye Baby! is also available via digital download.

As you can see, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing almost all of them, from Nine Inch Nails (my favorite), Weezer and Radiohead to Depeche Mode, Dave Matthews Band and The Smiths, but FINALLY, on May 29th, Rockabye Baby! released the one, the only…insert the best drum roll you can possibly imagine… the FOO FIGHTERS! Ladies and Gentlemen, it does not better than this. The album is brilliant with my favorite song being Arlandria off the Foo Fighters latest GRAMMY winning album, Wasting Light. I have listened to this album play on repeat over the last week and I’m sure Dave, Taylor, Chris, Nate, Pat (and Rami) are pleased with the results.
