Scissor Sisters Live in Hollywood
As we drove past the neon lit marquee of the Palladium on Sunset Strip, I squealed when I read SCISSOR SISTERS June 16th. I stinkin’ worship the Scissor Sisters, so I stumbled for my phone, pulled up Ticketmaster on my iPhone and the rest is history.
I first fell for the sounds of the Scissor Sisters in 2005 and it was pure rainbows and unicorns ever since. I heard their song Filthy Gorgeous and I saw the light. It moved me to sweat pink glitter and cry diamonds. This doesn’t happen too often since I’m more of a rock and roll type gal, but when a band comes around that makes you move and dance as if you are whooping it up at Peter Gaiten’s Limelight circa 1992, then you’ve bottled the pixie dust. It’s magic.
I made it to that Palladium show on Sunset with my good friend, Nina. And we danced like we were on Solid Gold. The sounds of the Scissor Sisters is a party coming through the speakers. The New York City based dance band made up of Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real, let the fans know that the bar had been set super high for tonight’s show:
“The most perfect show we’ve ever done was here. We set the standard here at The Palladium, and this will be how all of our shows are measured.” – Ana Matronic
Everyone in the crowd was smiling, the ground was moving and it was a blast. To look around and see every single person, including Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson dancin’ dancin’ is a good time. <– like that subtle name drop? Don’t trip over it.
Pretty much if the Scissor Sisters ever needed summer interns the biggest names in show business would be fighting for the unpaid spots.
Cher, Elton John, Lady Gaga, Kate Hudson, Dave Grohl, Beth Ditto, Fergie, Josh Homme and Bono are regulars at SS shows and these are only the ones I can remember off the top of my head…now that’s and impressive resume. Talk show host, Kelly Ripa has said the Scissors Sisters was her favorite performance on Live! With Regis & Kelly.
The Scissor Sisters delivered an amazing show in support of their newest album, Magic Hour and we can’t get enough! The setlist was perfect and we made it possible for you to listen to our favorite mixed tape of the Scissor Sisters on TREND TRIBE RADIO.
Do you love the Scissor Sisters? What’s your favorite tune?
