Bali | Ayana Resort and Spa

Lounge on a private daybed while peering out over the infinity pool at the beautiful blue ocean. Wind down with a fabulous Ayana Passion cocktail at the best sunset venue in Bali. Go for a dip in your private villa pool after enjoying brunch in your villa cabana. Where is this blissful place you ask? The Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali. Perched high above Jimbaran Bay overlooking the Indian Ocean, spanning across 190 acres, the Ayana is the most spacious luxury hotel in Bali. As winner of the 2011 Best Resort in Asia Conde Nast Traveller Readers’ Awards the Ayana does not disappoint.

This is THE place to relax and indulge in Bali.

The first thing you notice upon arrival is how massive the property is. I was awe-struck. Once you reach the heart of the grounds you understand why. The Ayana Resort has seven restaurants, two cafes, the famous Rock Bar as well as The Martini Club to satisfy your dining and cocktail desires. We tried four of the seven restaurants and the Kisik Bar and Grill was my favorite.

It’s hard to beat fresh seafood and a table cliff side with ocean waves crashing below.

For cocktails the Rock Bar is simply stunning! Built beautifully into the cliff side this open-air bar is the best I’ve been to in Bali. The Martini Bar has a never-ending selection and an entertaining bartender who makes delicous signature cocktails.

The Ayana has over 350 guestrooms, which includes resort rooms, resort suites, club rooms, club suites and villas. The one-bedroom villa was hands down the nicest villa we’ve stayed in EVER. Perfectly decorated in a modern fashion while still maintaining Balinese décor, I fell in love with it instantly. Gorgeous furniture filled the huge villa. The enormous two-section bathroom and walk in wardrobe was almost as big as our apartment in Singapore.

I could have lived happily ever after lounging by the private pool at our villa. Did I mention the personal butler available at your beckon call?

In the hot and humid Bali weather what better way to cool off than to take a dip? The resort has the main pool, children’s pool including water slides, saltwater Ocean Beach Pool, River Pool and Ayana’s private Kubu Beach.  We enjoyed a lazy afternoon on a daybed at the Ocean Beach infinity pool gazing out into the ocean. Stunning.

For some active fun choose from the golf putting course, tennis, yoga, cooking classes and more. If it’s a family trip the Kids Club has a range of activities to keep the little ones entertained. If you’re more in relaxation mode there is the ultimate spa experience at Ayana’s Spa on the Rocks located on the rocks overlooking the ocean. Sounds like heaven to me! There are also a number of treatments at the main spa where I enjoyed a lovely massage.

In addition to all of this is the excellent and warm service you receive as a guest at Ayana. Luxury Bali resorts are known for their top-notch service and the Ayana takes it to a whole new level. It really made our time at this beautiful property even more special. If you’re looking to splurge and treat yourself to a little bit of luxury in Bali, the Ayana Resort and Spa is the place.
