Taste a Rainbow :: Whole Foods Newport Beach
There is something new and wonderful to discover around ever corner of the brand new Whole Foods Newport Beach at Fashion Island. What began as a quick trip to the market to pick up ingredients for tonight’s dinner, ended up in a two-and-a-half hour family outing. My husband, Trendy Tot and I were each pulled by a culinary force unlike none other to different stations throughout the store.
Where to play first? Taste a rainbow over in the 100% Organic Zone? Sample the most delicious smoked scallop you can imagine? Bottle some cold packed infused flavor honey, balsamic vinegar or olive oil? Thanks to Whole Foods Newport Beach, we did it all!
See! Taste the rainbow.
Look at these babies!
Past the salad bar, the olive bar, the bread pantry, the sushi station, and the dessert station, nestled between the amazing wine selection and the Back Bay Tavern, was our favorite part of the store, the cheese counter where we met, Greg, our Mayor of Cheese, our Ambassador of Formaggio, the Yoda of Queso. YUMazing! Next time you are at Whole Foods Newport Beach, look for him, you will be so thrilled you did!

If you happened to check out Sharon’s DIY Cheese Board featured on The Trend Tribe yesterday you’ll completely understand our new obsession.

We may or may not have snuck a few snacks at Back Bay Tavern as well.
But our real mission was to break out the tangine and prepare the Red-Wine Braised Short Ribs recipe I found on Williams-Sonoma.com. I’ve been talking about making this meal for quite sometime and now, I didn’t have one excuse not to.
Dinner came out amazing, the cheese was to die for and I’m so in love with Whole Foods Newport Beach I think I want to vacation there!
Have you ever cooked in a tangine?
