L’Auberge Del Mar

Have you ever loved a resort so much you simply had to extend your stay?

That was exactly what I did once I experienced the exquisite L’Auberge Del Mar. Named one of Travel + Leisure Magazine’s World’s Best Resorts and ranked among the “Best Luxury Resorts” in the country by Conde Nast the gorgeous L’Auberge does not disappoint.

Situated in beautiful Del Mar in Southern California, L’Auberge is a seaside luxury resort perfectly located walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. Everything about this property is top-notch from the beautifully decorated rooms to the exceptional service every guest receives. This is the perfect place for relaxation and fun in a luxurious setting. Whether you choose to lounge by the pool in a private cabana, indulge in a blissful treatment at Spa L’Auberge or enjoy the delicious cuisine at KITCHEN 1540 you will fall in love with L’Auberge just like I did.

The 120 guestrooms including 7 suites are the perfect combination of luxury and comfort. Keeping with the coastal theme the colors and furniture have a Tommy Bahama feel that works perfectly. The comfortable beds, beautiful furniture, balcony with an ocean view and the big shower in the pretty bathroom won me over!

The L’Auberge has so much to offer its guests. Spend the day relaxing poolside only peeling yourself away for a massage at the spa. Take a morning stroll on the beach, which you access, via a private path from the property. Play a game of tennis or maybe take a lesson or two. To top it off the staff is amazing. They make every guest feel like a VIP with their warm, attentive service.

Some of the best cocktail and dining options in Del Mar are at L’Auberge. Enjoy a sunset cocktail at The Bleu Bar in an outdoor setting or a leisurely brunch at the Waterfall Terrace. The crab cake eggs benedict is to die for! Treat yourself to my favorite, the “Bobby” cocktail, at the lobby lounge bar after a divine dinner at the award-winning KITCHEN 1540.

Chef Scott Thomas Dolbee has put together a menu he describes as “playful, whimsical and modern.” We enjoyed a memorable dinner at KITCHEN 1540 during our stay. The scallops and prime tenderloin were two of my favorites on the dinner menu and of course the dessert!

L’Auberge is perfect for those looking for luxury, relaxation and romance in a seaside setting. This would be the perfect spot for a weekend escape if you live in Southern California or a week of pampering in luxury if you’re traveling from afar. The resort also has facilities for business functions and dream weddings.

You will pay a bit more for this type of luxury but trust me when I say it’s worth every penny. I know when I’m back in Del Mar I’ll definitely stay at the stunning L’Auberge resort again. It’s simply the crème de la crème!
