Dubai :: Jumeirah Zabeel Saray :: The Palm

Classy, luxurious, elegant Las Vegas hotel meets relaxing, blissful Bali beachfront resort. That, my friends, is the sweet combination of the spectacular Jumeirah Zabeel Saray resort located on the Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. Hand-painted murals and ceilings, marble, crystal chandeliers, and exquisite art fill the interior while a private beach with glorious views of the Arabian Gulf and a sparkling infinity pool beckon you outside. It’s not often you find a property that balances these two worlds perfectly. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray has nailed it. I’m beyond impressed.

This is one of those places you walk into and your jaw drops. I was in awe of the ornate detail surrounding me. I couldn’t stop spinning around in circles trying to take it all in. Everything from the elegant furniture to the classic, gold harp, and water fountain in the middle of the lobby catches your eye. If you’ve heard anything about Dubai you’ve probably heard things are always done in a grand manner, including their architecture. The Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is a perfect example. You almost feel like you walked into a palace, which is fitting for Dubai. The hotel is beautifully decorated to reflect the era of the Ottoman Empire, which is one of its most unique qualities.

All 405 rooms and suites boast beautiful ocean views and ooze elegance. The bathrooms are designed in the traditional Ottoman style with the biggest bathtub I’ve ever seen in a room. You could have fit five of me in it easily! The elegant décor and touches found throughout the resort continue in the guest rooms. I personally loved sitting on our balcony taking in the view of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai city skyline in the distance.

The Jumeirah Zabeel Saray features a number of fine dining options including Indian, Turkish, Lebanese, Vietnamese and also more casual international and healthy choices. We indulged in delicious Lebanese cuisine at the beautiful Al Nafoorah restaurant one evening. It was exquisite!  You can also enjoy food or a cold beverage by the pool or on the beach delivered to your lounge chair. Make sure to try the refreshing Mint Lemonade while you’re in Dubai! It’s a common drink and perfect for those scorching days. If an “adult beverage” is what you have in mind enjoy a cocktail at the Voda Bar while sitting in their “sphere chairs” or hit up C Club for some soft jazz, cocktails, cigars or decadent chocolates for an after dinner treat.

A variety of leisure and entertainment options are available during your stay at the resort. Scuba diving, watersports, fishing, beach volleyball and tennis are some of the fun outdoor activities. Of course there is the decadent Talise Ottoman Spa to escape and enjoy a little slice of heaven as well as twelve premium, luxury boutiques if you’re in the shopping mood. If it’s a family trip the resort has the Selim’s Kids Club to keep the little ones entertained.  Last but not least you can enjoy a show at the resort’s own Mehteran Theatre or catch a movie in a private screening room. With all of this who couldn’t thoroughly enjoy their stay at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray? To top it off you’re still close enough to access the business district, golf courses, shopping malls and main attractions. One excursion I highly recommend is a desert safari. Camel rides, sand dune bashing, a desert sunset and more are part of this unforgettable adventure. Get all the fun details of my desert safari experience over at Chamorro Chica.

If you’re planning a visit to Dubai and are looking for that perfect balance of relaxation and activity in a luxurious setting, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray is the place to stay. Be prepared to splurge, but I assure you it’s worth every cent. The spectacular Jumeirah Zabeel Saray has quickly become one of my favorite luxury properties in the world. Our very short two-night stay at this heavenly resort wasn’t nearly enough. Next time I’d love to stay much longer. Who knows, I may even just grow some roots and never leave!

Jumierah Zabeel Saray and Jumeirah Emirates Towers I reviewed last week are part of the Jumeirah Group who have properties worldwide in the Middle East, Europe, Americas, Asia-Pacific and India.

  1. I really have zero words when reading about this. It looks like the most magical resort in the world and I dream of the day I can pull up in my Maybach.

  2. If you’re pulling up in a Maybach I’ll be in the passenger seat! 🙂

    • Ha! I’m not driving. We’ll be clinkin’ the Perrier-Jouet Rose in the backseat!
