2012 Green Gift Guide :: Green is Beautiful
The time has come to buy people presents again and while I love to buy gifts and see the recipients delight at opening them, I also LOVE to buy gifts that might contribute a little to their green lifestyle. And really, just because it’s green, doesn’t mean it can’t be functional, beautiful and awesome.There’s something for everyone on this list, from a hostess gift, to something for the person that has everything.
Enjoy our Holiday 2012 Green Gift Guide!!
For the Hostess ::
Doesn’t EVERYONE bring a bottle of wine? Why be like everyone else when you can bring her her very own mushroom farm?? Back to the Roots is an amazing company that provides the ability to grow up to 1.5 pounds of oyster mushrooms in as little as 10 days. You don’t even have to have a green thumb! Just open, mist and put on your window sill for awesome, delicious mushrooms, grown straight from the box. You can order them online, but I’ve also seen them at my local Whole Foods, complete with gift tags for easy holiday gifting!!
For Him ::
Lets be honest, who doesn’t have an IPhone these days? And since your man probably has most things that he needs already (mine likes to buy everything for himself before I can even get to it) a super cool, super streamlined and very green conversation piece like this is the way to go. Have him put it on his desk at work! Each piece of bamboo is unique and %100 eco-friendly. Best of all? They even have ones that dock with the new IPhone 5.
For the person who has everything ::
There’s always that person that you just can’t figure out. The one who has everything. The one who doesn’t need more crap cluttering their already over-decorated house. So how about giving the gift of a “living loan”? At Heifer International you can make a donation to their organization that will provide a family with livestock, or trees, or my very favorite? The gift of honeybees.
Bees not only provide honey, but can also double fruit and vegetable production. With the gift of bees, Heifer Intl will provide a family the bees, as well as the hive and the training to raise them. That in turn can help an entire village to end world hunger. Pretty cool gift for that person who doesn’t need another.damn.thing, right?
For Her/You ::
So you’ve figured out what to get the people on your list. But what about YOU? What would YOU like this year for the holidays?
Every woman fights that battle during the cold winter season of how to look sexy without freezing her butt off in bed. And it’s made from the lushest, most eco-friendly fabrics available today so you can seduce while you reduce your carbon footprint.
And if sleepwear isn’t quite as fancy as you were looking to go this holiday season, how about some jewelry? But seriously, how do you get eco-friendly jewelry that doesn’t look like it was made from twigs and berries? Why, go vintage! And because every woman deserves a little something sparkly in her life, how about some one-of-a-kind pieces from Brilliant Earth? These are some lovely little sparklers to slip into your Christmas stocking…AND they are one of a kind.
Last but certainly not least, if you need a gift for her, for him, for the kids or for anyone green-minded on your list, how about a super cute and eco-friendly watch?
