Gift Box Subscriptions

Gift Box Subscriptions

It’s the holidays.  No doubt you are rushing around trying to buy the best gift for each person on your gift list.  This year, think inside the box.  Boxed gift subscriptions are the perfect idea.  You simply order a single box or a monthly subscription and your work is done.  Here are my favorites:

Julibox ships cocktail recipes, spirits and mixers right to your door ($40/per box).  Each box contains enough ingredients to make two each of two different types of drinks.  I was sent a kit to make a Polish Mule (to be made with Polish Vodka) and a Daisy Rose and I can’t wait to mix these up later!  The drinks and participating brands are hand selected by world-class mixologists so you are getting a totally unique cocktail experience right in your own home.  I am in LOVE with this idea.  I’ve been a wine gal for a very long time so this is the perfect way for me to try new things without having to fully stock my bar with things I might not want to drink again.  This way, I get to see what kinds of cocktails I really enjoy and what specialty mixers, etc. I should purchase full size.  The recipe cards they send along are amazing.  Not only are they designed well, the recipes are super easy to follow and you can tell, at a glance, what equipment and fresh items you will need.  AND there is even a sample toast on there!  This is on my gift list for sure!

Kiwi Crate

While we don’t focus a ton on kid’s items on The Trend Tribe, I felt like this boxed subscription guide would be incomplete without talking about Kiwi Crate.  Kiwi Crate is a box full of inspiration and materials to create crafts and promote creative play ($19.95/ per box).  Your kids will love this!  The boxes contain materials to create two arts and crafts projects based on a loose theme but also includes “extras” to further their learning and experience.  My kids (ages 4 and 6) were able to do these crafts mostly unsupervised and really engaged them both.  The crafts were well designed and the boxes are truly comprehensive and include really clear instructions.  This box would be great sent as a family gift as it is something the whole family can do together.

Love with Food

Love with Food is the perfect box for the foodie in your life.  Each box contains gourmet food samples delivered to your door ($10/ per month).  The boxes are curated by the Love with Food staff with help from a special guest.  The box I received was designed in part by Amy Roloff of TLC’s ‘Little People, Big World.’  And on top of that, for every box sent, they donate a meal to a hungry child.  The box I received had a nice variety of items.  What I was most excited about was that it introduced me to a new allergy friendly brand that my peanut allergic son could, very happily, help me sample.  I think this box would be an awesome gift for grandparents and other relatives that are hard to buy for but you want to spoil.

Love with Food

There are virtually boxed gift subscriptions for every possible theme and taste.

A few of my other favorites are:

Tasting Room : An easy way to discover wines from around the world (around $35/ month)

Craft Coffee :  Expertly chosen coffee from all over the world ($25/ month)

For the Makers : A box of illustrated DIY tutorials and hand-picked materials for creating 4 fashion forward projects ($29/box)

Art in a Box : Featuring Bay Area fine artists, these boxes contain art pieces based on your preferences $50/month – 3 month minimum for shipped orders)

Must Have : Pop Sugar’s must have items for beauty, fashion, home, fitness and food ($35/ month and offers a super luxury version as well)

His Kit : A variety of deluxe-sized samples geared towards men ($12/ month)

Have you tried out any of these subscriptions?  Which ones do you love?
