Recipe : Golden Globe Cheese Ball Appetizer
There is a fair amount of cheesiness during awards shows. That is why this cheese ball recipe is the perfect appetizer to serve for all your awards season entertaining, especially the Golden Globes this Sunday.
While a cheese ball may seem more at home at some sort of sports watching party, we’ve made sure to keep it classy by pairing it with a little bubbly. And think of how fancy it would look on this DIY cheese slate I made a few months back.
This cheese ball recipe is super easy to make and your guests will be asking your for the recipe for sure. The great thing about it is that you can easily tailor this to suit your taste.
Mix the cream cheese and cheddar cheese until well mixed. A fork works really well to break up the cheese and really get the cheddar incorporated.
Simply add the rest of the ingredients and stir again. At this point, the mixture will probably be a bit soft. Pop it back in the fridge to chill until ready to plate. The cheese mixture will easily form in to a ball. Roll in diced pecans (tip: form the ball and add the nuts on something other than your serving dish to keep it clean).

Place on your desired serving dish with Wheat Thins, or other crackers. This appetizer is delicious as it comes up to room temperature so it is perfect for at least a half of the televised broadcast. Now get the party started. Pop some champagne and enjoy as you are dazzled by Hollywood’s glam and glitz.

Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I use sharp.)
- 1 TBSP of chopped green onion
- 1 or 2 TBSP of blue cheese crumbles (depending on how much you like the taste of blue cheese.)
- 1 tsp Worchestire Sauce (this was not pictured in the ingredients because the bottle was ugly - true story.)
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- Small package of finely chopped pecans
Instructions
- Combine softened cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
- Mix until well blended.
- Add remaining ingredients except nuts.
- Mix well + chill!
- Shape in to a ball and then roll in chopped pecans.
- Serve with Wheat Thins or other preferred cracker.
What is your favorite ‘cheese ball’ movie?
